Story and a Sketch

Been a short New York minute since my last update. Story and a Sketch came out of nowhere like all good ideas do. How many times as an Artist have I been asked or any other artist for that matter. “Where did the idea come from”. In this case pretty simple, I take from my travel journals, sketches and put together this new fantastic idea! You as the great Art consumers you are like to take your info like your morning cup o joe. You take in what you read and like to look at cool drawings or stuff whatever it may be. So I have provided you a couple cool ways of you gathering all my stuff the way you like it. If you have the need for the Kinestetic, I have lots of sculpture too, but thats another story. These are my personal ones for you to enjoy.

"Art Passport" my art on navigational charts

New idea for me, chart art has been around awhile and thought I’d like to re-visit this once again. My original airbrush “chart art” of Trinidad harbor hangs on my living room wall to this day. Everyone loves a passport stamp so I’ve come up with many of my own styles. Combining local charts with local art scenes is 100% spot on everything!

Live Draw

Winter time is slow time - NOT! Still chugging away making copper boats as of late but in the interim on some evenings I've been sketching live models. Start out with one minute time limits and then work up to 5-10-15 and maybe 20min max. The one minute sessions are not easy but you do get a lot out of it later. 15min is the perfect time for me since I've been doing 15 min sketches for years. I'm finding I have time to get the person drawn in and then shading too, cuz once the time is up the model moves and is gone forever. Capture what you see now!

Vietnam Adventure 2016

Just back from an amazing world travel to the country of Vietnam, first time ever, 30 days. Art goal set at a 15 minute sketch a day for everyday on the road. Met that goal one day prior, amazing what you can do when you set a goal and hold yourself accountable. Huge difference in what I saw in my work in just a few days, how much it changed, what your focus was. Sketch on friends, 15 minutes is such a small amount of time that you can capture in a heart beat. Sketches can be found under "Scott's Work" enjoy the ride.
